2023 Jacksonville Jaguars Schedule

JT: So here it is, the official 2023 schedule is out

May 11th has come and gone and with it the release of the Jaguars 2023 game times. Let us regale you with our thoughts on the subject. They are outrageous and crazy but they’re ours and ours alone. Who else would claim them? We question whether or not we even do. Alright, enough with the filler. let’s get on with the show.

Week 1: @ Colts - 1pm. In the heat of the North Florida day. Fortunately for Jaguars fans this game is being played in Indy, in the comfort of Lucas Oil Stadium. Kinda wish TIAA Bank and the word “comfort” went together. I’m pretty sure, instead of a complete remodel, a billion dollars would buy just the right sized fan to suspend over the entire stadium. Just saying, that would solve everything. I’d even be okay continuing to pay $17 for a soda and popcorn if we only had a giant fan.

Week 2: Chiefs @ TIAA Bank - 1pm. The rematch of the rematch from 2022. What could’ve been in Arrowhead stadium last year, during the playoffs…well twice last year actually…could finally come true during the Jaguars season opener this year. It’s a 1pm game. Well that’s a surprise, the Jaguars having a game in the middle of the day in the middle of the summer. I guess one surprisingly wonderful year with a 9-8 record and one of the most amazing comeback playoff wins against a QB that for some reason everyone still has ranked higher than Trevor Lawrence eventhough Lawrence beat him twice last year and he’s never won a playoff game, is not enough. I do love me some run-on sentencing.

Week 3: Texans @ TIAA Bank - 1pm. Another 1pm game. My sweat is sweating just thinking about it. The Texans made moves this offseason and especially during the draft. They dove in head first with a brand new quarterback (some might say the best in the draft. I would be part of those some). Then they traded up to grab the best defensive player available. Inevitably the moves Houston made caused some paid prognosticators to lose their minds and proclaim the Texans winners of the AFC South. We will mention no names in this column, because to be honest, it isn’t worth mentioning.

Week 4: Falcons @ Wembley Stadium - 9:30am. The Jaguars are the first team in NFL history to play two games in London. I’ll be honest, a 9:30am game anywhere would he better than a 1pm game at The Bank. Maybe I’m focusing too hard on the weather, but if it ain’t hot, it’s raining.

Week 5: @ Bills @ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - 9:30am. The second of the UK games. The beauty of this game is that it’s an away game for the Jags. I’d rather play the Bills in England than in Buffalo. So I guess this works out well for Jacksonville. If we are being honest, and we know no other way to be here at JaguarsTalk, when looking at all of the away teams on the schedule, the Bills were an excellent choice for a UK match-up.

Week 6: Colts @ TIAA Bank - 1pm. Back to the bank for an AFC South battle in the heat. Didn’t we play the Colts twice last year in the first six games of the season? Am I remembering correctly or is the heat already getting to me?

Week 7: @ Saints - 8:15pm. The first of three primetime games this season. Jacksonville will be on every TV in the nation coming to you live from the Superdome. It is very difficult for me to not project winners and losers in this column, but I will refrain, except to say I think this one will be a Jags dub.

Week 8: @ Steelers - 1pm. Still a lack of respect for the Jaguars. Every non-prime time game is a hot afternoon sweat fest. This one’s in Pittsburgh though, so we will be comfortable in our living room.

Week 9: BYE

Week 10: 49ers @ TIAA Bank - 1pm. Who will be San Fran’s QB at this point in the season? Will it even matter? With the 49ers surrounding players it might not. This is yet another game that will test the Jags. I’m really looking forward to this one.

Week 11: Titans @ TIAA Bank - 1pm. Another QB question. At this point will Tannehill be starting for the new look Titans?

Week 12: @ Texans - 1pm. Stroud will have a few games under his belt at this point. Things might get interesting, but they probably won’t.

Week 13: Bengals @ TIAA Bank - 8:15pm. Let’s hope this will be a huge game at this point in the season. Every indication is that it will be. Burrow and the Bengals travel for a night game against Lawrence and the boys. As of late, the Jaguars play pretty well under those lights.

Week 14: @ Browns - 1pm. With basically a full season under center, Watson will be a much better adversary.

Week 15: Ravens @ TIAA Bank - 8:20pm. The last of the prime-time Jaguars for 2023. If this years Baltimore game is anything like last years, then yes please. I will certainly take another.

Week 16: @ Buccaneers - 4:05pm. Why oh why, NFL gods, can you not grant the Jaguars of Jacksonville some 4pm games in the heat of summer? I recognize that this game will be played in December, and in Tampa, but just throw some 4:05s toward the 2024 Jax warm weather days please.

Week 17: Panthers @ TIAA Bank - 1pm. New Years Eve is always better with a Jaguars win.

Week 18: @ Titans - TBD. Let me just say this…IF this years AFC South champion comes down to the last game of the season against Tennessee again, I won’t be very happy.
